Deadline

Thursday 5pm. All camera-ready ads need to be complete and in our office no later than the Thursday before publication. This deadline may come early if your ad is for a special section or if publication falls on or near a major holiday. If that happens, your sales rep will notify you of the change in advance.

Ad Sizes
1 Column......... 1.8"
2 Column......... 3.75"
3 Column......... 5.7"
4 Column......... 7.65"
5 Column......... 9.6"
6 Column......... 11.55"

Ex: If you've reserved a 3col. x 10" space, your ad file needs to be 6.4375 inches wide by 10 inches tall.

Acceptable File Formats

  • PDF (preferred). The recommended way to make your PDF files is to first save your ad as a postscript or an EPS file with all images and fonts embedded. Then use Adobe Acrobat Distiller using the "Press Quality" setting to turn your postscript or EPS file into a PDF file. Some programs offer an option where you can save or export as a PDF file. We don't recommend doing that. But if you have no choice, check that all fonts and images are embedded before making the PDF file. Also make sure the images are at 300dpi (for grayscale & cmyk) and 600dpi (for lineart).
  • EPS. If you're going to submit a camera-ready EPS file, be sure to either embed all fonts and images, or include them separately along with the EPS file. Your images should be 300dpi (for grayscale & cmyk) and 600dpi (for lineart).
  • TIFF, JPEG, PSD & BMP. These files should be flattened and at a resolution of 300dpi.

Delivery Methods

  • Email. Click here to email files under 5mb in size. You can direct any technical questions you have to that address. Also, if you're sending many files in one email, compress all your documents into one file using a program like StuffIt or WinZip. Files larger than 5mb in size can be saved on disk or sent over via FTP. For our FTP information, please call the Production Manager at 732-219-5788 ext. 209.
  • CD, Zip (100mb) or 3 1/2" Floppy Disks. We can accept files saved on any of these.
  • Hard Copy's. We recommend also submitting a hard copy of the ad with any files you give us. This helps us check for any technical errors. Take a look at your printed ad before submitting it to us. If it looks bad on the hard copy, odds are it won't look good in the publication either.
